On February 10th of 1999 the FDA issued a Public Health Advisory for certain drugs that may potentially interact with St. John’s Wort. A study at The National Institutes of Health (NIH) showed a significant drug interaction between St John’s wort and Indinavir, a protease inhibitor used to treat HIV infection. Concomitant administration of St. John’s Wort and Indinavir substantially decreased Indinavir plasma concentrations. Based on this study and reports in the medical literature, St. John’s Wort appears to be an inducer of an important metabolic pathway, cytochrome P450. As many prescription drugs used to treat heart disease, depression, seizures, certain cancers or to prevent conditions such as transplant rejection or pregnancy (oral contraceptives) are metabolized via this pathway, the FDA recommended that health care providers should alert their patients that St. John’s Wort use might reduce the effectiveness of their medications. If you are taking any prescription medications, consult with your doctor before using St. John’s Wort.

Pills sold as weight-loss supplements are not government-approved. Many formulas include herbs and other ingredients that may or may not aid in losing weight, but can trigger dangerous side effects.

Oprah is a good candidate for the best diets money can buy. Look at her now!

If you want to lose weight here’s what you can do:
Eat smaller portions of meat, (8 oz can be cut up into smaller servings), less carbo, no potatoes, rice instead, avoid fattening and baked foods.

No cakes, frostings, whipped cream, butter. If you want ice cream, one scoop in a cone. No seconds! Eat as much veggies and fruits w/out syrup. You can have a cookie a day, if you like cookies but with peanut butter or oatmeal & raisins. No big portions of muffins, croissants, etc.

No junk food. If you must, eat only a handful.

For salad, don’t use creamy dressing, don’t add fattening croutons. Make your own honey, mustard dressing, or viniagrette (sp), there are some Italian dressings that are really tasty, go to recipes online or Olive Garden and use their recipe.

FDA now require safety labeling changes to the following sections: BOXED WARNING, CONTRAINDICATIONS, WARNINGS, PRECAUTIONS, ADVERSE REACTIONS, PATIENT PACKAGE INSERT, and MEDICATION GUIDE.

YOU SHOULD NEVER MIX HERBS WITH PRESCRIPTIONS ANTIDEPRESSANTS

In order to shed some weight a little effort is necessary at first.,, then it will come as a habit. Whenever you can, walk. Give up drinking anything but water. Once or twice a week, go swimming at the local pool.

I have a couple of water bottles next to the couch.. each time I sit on the couch I pick them up and lift them up and down.
It is boring and it seems useless to do but if you get used to do it,., after just 20 minutes you will start sweating and your arm will get tired.
Just change arm and carry on, eventually it will become automatic and you might even want to progress to some dumbells, maybe a little bit heavier than the water bottle.

Why not just do some walking every day, giving up on all drinks but water
and sticking to vegetables, salad and some fruits?
Also eat raw stuff like celery, cucumbers, carrots etc. it is as simple as this.
